The Wolves of Drauglad Lotro Abandon to Get Again

Finding Scholar artifacts in Lotro

S o, you lot've decided to accept the path of the Scholar in Lotro. Exist aware that this is 1 of the most difficult crafting professions. Non because it is hard to craft stuff or acquiring scholar crafting recipes. No, the problem is that the stuff you have to detect is hard to obtain. As a scholar y'all are looking for artifacts, like an archeologist. You are looking for old pitchers, aboriginal vases, urns, old texts and hidden coffers and lockers which may contain ancient materials. Well, if you know something about these artifacts, I think you lot get the picture where yous have to wait for them. Correct, in ruins!

The difficulty is that ruins are not so common in the globe of Middle Earth equally you lot may think. At least not then common every bit forests, shrubs and hills with wood and ore. And so y'all accept to observe them and investigate their occupants. The other trouble is, that most of the ruins volition exist infested with enemy forces, poisonous spiders or some other fierce predator. And so, in this perspective the Scholar is peradventure the hardest crafting profession there is. Elves and burglars may exist meliorate off as a scholar, since they can sneak in stealth into those dangerous ruins. Only a brute forcefulness of hack and slash, or a magic daze or root tin can be very handy besides. If you similar danger, hunting enemies for scholar artifacts (goblins, orcs, trolls, thieves and brigands tin drib at present and and so artifacts as well) or looting ruins, the Scholar crafting profession is the thing for you!

In the tabular array below you can see which artifacts are needed for which scholar tier. Too, each artifact contains a special kind of material and with these materials yous can make all kinds of interesting stuff. Like power and morale pots, crafting buffs and buffs for shooting arrows, defence and attacks.

Scraps of Rohirric Text

Almost scholars are looking for artifacts, so they have to search in ruins and - mostly - have to kill a lot of evil creatures or man. This kind of scholar specialization tin exist called an archeologist .

If you don't like such an ambitious manner to become a scholar, and you are more than of the docile blazon, you lot can ever become a gardener or a botanist . Why? considering these specializations are both interesting to make - and sell (!) colorful dyes.

Making dyes

Another way to level your proficiency as a scholar, is making dyes. This can be done past looking for rare institute-species (the way of the botanist) or making dye ingredients by harvesting crops on a farm field (the way of the gardener).

Both ways are explained on a split folio.

Get to: dye making and dye-flora maps (click on this link)

The way of the archeologist: searching for artifacts

The most common mode to level your proficiency equally a scholar, is searching for artifacts. As said, the can be institute more often than not in ruins. Sometimes yous have to look in enemy camps or in mines.

Tier 1 – Amateur: Shattered Bullpen

A shattered pitcher contain the raw materials for first-tier scholar recipes. To use get these materials, your scholar must have a scholar'due south glass equipped. The Shattered Pitcher artifact contains the following raw materials for crafting:

- Aged Scraps of Text
- Early on Third Age Relics
- Worn Tablet Fragments.

Due southhattered pitchers can exist constitute in the starter areas of Bree-land, Ered Luin and the Shire.

Probably the best place to look for tier ane scholar artifacts is Bree-land, where shattered pitchers can exist found in the wide surroundings effectually the Midgewater Mires (meet map). Some places there are easy to loot, but most are in ruins guarded past many mobs. So be careful!

Ered Luin is too OK for gathering Shattered pitchers, and like Bree-land most pitchers are located in ruins.

Not surprisingly, in the Shire scholar artifacts seems rare. This region is hardly known for aboriginal Elven occupation and b ig ruins are rare here. So, if you lot run across ane from a altitude, information technology is worthwhile to explore that ruin. Until now, I have found 3 spots only : two in ruins and i around a abased subcontract-firm .

For all known locations of Shattered pitchers (at to the lowest degree known to me), see the maps below. I have recently checked them and ommited old records where I couldn't notice scholar artifacts.

Tier 2 -  Journeyman: Broken Urns and Woad plants

Tier 2 artifacts, broken urns, can be found in ruins with mobs of roughly lvl xv-25. A broken urn provides ii kinds of raw fabric for crafting:

- Cryptic texts
- Second age trinkets

Broken urns can be found in the enemy-infested ruins of Ered Luin, Bree-state, 50one-lands and N Downs. No records are known From the Shire. You can also find them in the undead or spider infested barrows of the Barrow-downs, SW of Bree.
If you want to avoid such dangerous places, you lot can also expect for woad-plants. These plants can be used for making a several blue dyes. But be aware: woad plants are not every bit arable every bit cleaved urns, and then you will only find one ore two plants on a spot. But if y'all similar constitute gathering, nothing stands in your mode to become a botanist!

Ered Luin (see map above)
Broken urns seems to exist a flake rare here, and the best places to look out for them are Emyn Hoedh and Kheledûl. You can also kill some evil dwarves and goblins, since they regularly drop scholar stuff they have found.

Bree-land (see both Barrow-donws maps below, and the Bree-land map above)
Like the tier 1 artifacts, Bree-country is too the best region for tier 2 artifacts: the broken urns. They can exist found in ruins in Bree-land and also in several barrows of the Northern and Southern Barrow-Downs. The Barrows are rather dangerous at equal level, but the mobs you have to conquer will drop excellent stuff! Some barrows have a squeamish surprise, since they also contain some Antique vases, a tier 3 antiquity that is rather uncommon in the Breeland region. Y'all can find these vases in the bigger rooms of the barrows, ordinarily guarded by a small boss.

The N Downs (meet map Tier 3, below)

Tier 3 – Skillful: Antique Vase

Antique vases can be looted past scholars if they accept at least Expert proficiency and - of grade - a scholar's drinking glass equipped. This third-tier node will give yous threeast kind of raw materials to craft receipts:

- F aded Sindarin passages
- Torn craftsman's diaries
- Cracked dwarf

Antique vases tin can be constitute in ruins throughout The Lone-lands, The North Downsand Evendim In Bree-state they tin be plant in barrows in the Barrow-Downs (see maps above).

Bree-lands (see maps above)
In Bree-land antiquarian vases can be found in the barrows of the Northern and Southern Barrow Downs. They are reported from Haud Taenthond, Haudh Methernil*, Haudh Nogbenn and The Barrow of Ringdor* in the northern Barrow Downs. These relatively small barrows are less dangerous than the big ones in the southern Barrow Downs.
The biggest barrows in the Due southouthern Barrow Downs are the nearly dangerous ones and quite lethal if you enter them solo, at to the lowest degree at a low level. I constitute vases in The Neat Barrow and Haufh Iarchith , both are instances. 2 smaller barrows in the NE corner of the southern Barrow Downs has also antique vases: Goetham and Gwantham.

Take notice that y ou have to enter a barrow to find these vases, since they don't appear on your mini-map when y'all are above ground, tracking them. At iii locations I found antique vases above the ground; they are all located about the big ruin of Ost Gorthad, in the SE corner of the map.

* reported by EternalLurker (see comments)

Lonely-lands (come across map below)
Due east of Weathertop, in ruins south and north along the road to the final bridge, you can find several locations with antique. All places are guarded by mobs and are not easy to accomplish when you are level 15-20. In Iorvinas yous have to go into the dungeons to find some vases. Agamaur and a ruin in Harloeg are even more unsafe, and here you tin can discover Forgotten Texts, which are the Tier 4 artifacts.

The North Downs (see map below)
In the Due north-downs all scholar artifacts are to be found in ruins. I haven't found any artifacts in eastwardnemy camps, like Dol Dinen. I skipped the remote Nan Wathren, since I don't await to find any artifacts hither on ground of the stated observation. Most ruins will contain antiquarian vases and these places are guarded by enemies, of course. The only easy places to loot are the two ruins with Cleaved urns, NE of Threstlebridge . Curiously, I couldn't find any scholar artifact inside i of the biggeastst ruin of Middle Earth, the enormous castle of Fornost. I entered this huge circuitous of walls and towers, and even the northern - instance - parts. But alas, I din't found anything but zillions of mobs...  However, they driblet a lot of raw scholar materials, and then they must accept looted all the artifacts here.

Evendim

Evendim is rich in ruins and as well rich in scholar artifacts. Virtually every large ruin inhabited by enemy forces or aggressive animals - like wolves, bats and salamanders - contain at to the lowest degree 1 artifact. Well-nigh of them are antiquarian vases, just a some (more unsafe) places you lot will find forgotten texts. Be aware of these texts, because they tin can stay a long time hidden in evidently sight. When you reach about the place where the text will be, information technology will appear like magic. Probably all these text are enchanted and hidden for the unaided eyes of strangers!

In the Map below you lot will come across all the places I take visited in Evendim and wether yous can find a scholar artifact or non. The t wo ruins east of Parth Aduial are actually in the Northdowns, side by side to thursdaye border of Evendim. These ruins are named Glirost and Tham Fiftyorn.

Tier 4 -  Artisan: Forgotten Text

Forgotten texts contains ii types of raw cloth (tier 4):
- Fragment of Dúnedain Script
- Relic of Lothlórien
These ancient texts seem to be enchanted, since they stay hidden in sight, and they only appear when you lot stand close plenty to see them. Fortunately, they can exist seen in the mini-map (radar), when the Track Artifacts skill is activated. In heavy mob infested ruins, these texts tin can be a pain to detect, since you have to fight your way through lots of mobs until you attain the right spot. It is always a rare sight to run into the shimmering lectern with the sometime textbook appear when y'all stand close enough. And after a wild search it gives great satisfaction to extract the most wanted scholar materials - fragments of Dunedain Script and Relics of Lothlorien - of these texts.

Forgotten texts, can exist found in five regions: in the easternmost parts of the Lone-lands, throughout the Trollshaws, Evendim and Angmar and only i identify in the Misty Mountains .

.

Alone-lands (see map in a higher place)

Forgotten texts can exist found in the eastern part of the Lone-lands. They are situated in places with heavy resistance, like the undead in Ost Haer and Nindor and the elite forces in Agamaur. I didn't found any artifacts in the example area Garth Agarwen, so skip this place for antiquity exploration.

Evendim (see map higher up)

Evendim is not very rich in Forgotten textsouth and I accept institute merely four places. Surprisingly, the huge ruin town of Annúminas is relatively deficient in artifacts. I have only found ii places near Minathranc, and when you loot them they will reappear onorth 2 other spots near that place. I take marked all the 4 places on the Annuminas map. Since there are so many Angmarin and Trolls, it is really not worth it to venture forth in this very dangerous expanse. All mobs are around level twoscore and are elite forces. The tombs in Men Erain - northeast of Annuminas - are a amend place to wait for these magical texts. I found three spots along the road . Two are located around the tomb Haud Arantar and one is south of Haud Valandur, in a small open tomb-ruin. All these spots are much easier to loot than the dangerous places in Annuminas. Some other option is t he salamander island Tyl Ruinen, although I could only found one spot there in the ruin of Tollobel. Salamanders can be a nuisance here, and since Forgotten text can be hidden for a while in manifestly sight - although they announced in the radar - it may exist hard to get these texts. Consider it a claiming when you are of equal level!

Trollshaws
Trollshaws is the best region to find forgotten texts. Yet, most places where scholar artifacts are found, are infested with lots of monsters, similar trolls and wights. Except Ost Durgonn, most places are very dangerous at level 35. So, my best suggest is to loot them in a fellowship, or go back when you are some levels higher. After lvl 50+ it is an easy surface area. Thieves and elves may sneak - unseen - behind the trolls, snap the text, and abscond away. But if the trolls are some levels higher and then you, they volition undoubtedly sniff y'all out. Even if you lot are in sylvan shadows...

Misty Mountains
Non worthy for whatsoever visit. Only 1 spot known, at the Bitter Stair well-nigh Helegrod. If the place is looted - near a stone column - the text will appear on the opposite rock column.

Angmar
Despite the many ruins and sometime forgotten towns in Angmar, scholar artifacts are rare in this grim identify.  I accept ch ecked Carn Dum, The Rift, Barad Gularan, Ram Duath and Ongbishuk, merely all these places seems to be empty. Probably most texts and ancient vases are stolen or destroyed by the high amount of enemy forces which tin be plant in these areas. About all places are full of mobs, like Angmar priests, evil men, big trolls and countless orcs. Since the rewards past killing them are many, it's probably better to kill a lot of this evil spawn. If you are lucky they drop some stolen artifacts and some money as well. The forgotten text and ancient vases I have constitute, are marked on the map beneath.
If yous don't like killing a lot of evil humanoids, I advise you lot to search for ancient vases in Forochel. It is not such a harsh identify as Angmar, and particularly 1 location is easy to loot. Alas, there are non many places with ancient vases I know in that location, and these vases seems to exist quiet rare in most of the zones and their regions .
Many f orgotten texts can be constitute in Trollshaws, merely all places are heavily guarded past enemies, same as in Angmar. At least Trollshaws is not such a depressing place as Angmar, so if you wanna slay mobs with a bluish sky and enlighted elven music, get to Eastern Trollshaws (see the map for locations).

Forgotten texts and ancient vases are rare in Angmar

Tier 5 – Master: Ancient Vase

Ancient Vases incorporate iv types of raw scholar fabric of tier five, and you need to be at last a Primary to open these vases.

These types of raw materials can be found in aboriginal vases:

- Long-lost Second Historic period Text

- Torn Scholar's Journal

- Undeciphered Moon-letter of the alphabet

- Worn Elf-carving

Ancient vases, can be found in ruins throughout The Misty Mountains, Forochel and Eregion.

Ancient vases at The Lonesome Stones - in Forochel - are easy to boodle

Misty Mountains

Thousand isty Mountains seems non a good place for scholar stuf. I just establish 1 place with two spots of text: the ancient ruin of Gabilazan. All other places seems to exist devoid of texts. Even in Goblin town or the stone houses of the giants - in Giant Halls - there are no scholar artifacts to be found. Promise somebody will observe a new spot in this region. Tell me if you do!

Forochel
Ancient vases are a bit scarce in Forochel. Maybe some ruins are now blanketed by thick ice-layers and vanorthwardished until warmer times appear. I have found, until at present 3 locations. Three are situated in ruins named Kibilzahar, The Lonesome Stones and The Ironspan. With some care Kibilzahar and especially The Lonesome Stones can be looted adequately easy. In both places there are but two spots where you can find ancient vases. Only kill some enemies and look until they reappear. Kibilzahar is a small-scale ruin and the vases will reappear at the same spots. The Lonesome stones are much bigger, so the 2 vases have 4 spots where they tin appear. Luckily the place is fairly empty of enemies and it is the safest spot to loot you valuable The Ironspan however is heavily guarded past lots of Angmarin, then take intendance when yous try to loot the vases there. Don't go there when yous are several levels lower than the Angmarin at this identify!

The aboriginal vases near Zigilzund are hidden by sight and yous have to enter the Icereave Mines to observe them. At first sight you but see 1 vase, but if you pull a lever downstairs a hidden passage volition appear. In that passage 2 other vases can be found. The place is infested with dourhand dwarves and peikko-snowbeasts, but they drop a lot of boodle. Don't go in if y'all are some levels lower every bit the mobs since they will surely overrun you! Come back when you are a higher level, or loot in a group of ii-3.

Eregion

Similar Forochel, the ancient vases are as well rare in Eregion. I have institute until at present only 3 places. First place to go are the ruins at Pembar, with lots of worms and half-orcs. You will observe 2 spots with vases there. In the west I found ii spots in Barad Morlas, another ruin with lots of one-half-orcs. You can combine both places with quests , specially Barad Morlas. South of Barad Morlas there is a small ruin with 2 other spots of ancient vases. Both spots are adequately piece of cake to boodle. If you circumvolve around in Barad Morlas, you can kill half-orcs and their wolf-guards, do a lot of quests and looting at least 4 spots with ancient vases, until they reappear.
Curiously enough, I haven't found any vases in the well known ruins of  Tham Mirdain, similar the School and the Library. Also the orc-camps near the Red Horn Laissez passer (Thar Stag) and the Angmarin and Dunleding-campsites in Emyn Naer don't comprise any vases. So, like Misty Mountains and Forochel, the Ancient Vase is a rare scholar antiquity indeed.

Tier 6 -  Supreme: Sage'southward Locker, Sage's Catafalque and Sage's Lockbox

There are 3 kinds of tier 6 artifacts: sage's lockers, caskets and lockboxes. They can contain up to 5 types of raw materials. The materials are:
- Etching of Moria
- Rune-carved Tablet
- Relic of Khazad-dûm
- Cleaved Dwarf-statue
- Tattered Khuzdul Parchment

Droprates
Although I haven't figure it out completely, here is a tabular array with droprates of the three types of lockboxes you can find:

A lockbox drops most of the time (xc%), a broken dwarf statue (up to 3) and 1-two rune-carved tabpermits (90%), Echtching of Moria-droprate is 75% and only ane will drib; you have a 50% chance for ane relic of Khazad-dum.

Sage's lockers, -casgets and -lockboxes tin exist establish in places like Lothlorien, Moria, Enedwaithand Mirkwood. Sage's Lockers can be found in Moria and Mirkwood. Sage'southward Caskets can exist found in the lower depths of Moria, starting in the Redhorn Lodes. Sage's Lockboxes can be found in Lothlorien, Mirkwood and Enedwaith.

Moria
There are lots of places to detect Sage's caskets and Sage's lockers in the Mines of Moria.
As an elf, I don't this the depressing environment of narrow, dark and countless maze-like paths beneath the earth. I mapped all the places in Moria where I found artifacts , and beneath you see my terminal results. Print them out, or employ a second screen like I do (they are easy to admission these days at a 2nd hand shop) .
The Moria maps I take used are the detailed real travel maps, from which y'all volition see a pocket-sized portion in your radar. The named locations are the points of involvement which volition appear as flagged objects on the radar. You run across them also on the overview map as flags (when pressing the 1000-key). For yous convenience I have marked the stables (purple dots) and on almost maps too the stable-routes You just have to travel some part of a route, by foot or caprine animal, and current of air your style in the dark caverns and halls of Moria,

Sage'southward lockers can be found in the upper levels of Moria: The Great Delving and Durin's Way, and in the sub-lower levels Silvertine Lodes and Zelem-Melek. They can also be found in the Waterworks.

Great Delving

When you enter Moria, you start in the Great Delving. At kickoff sight Moria is an overwhelming place and the Great Delving seems pretty easy. Strange plenty the starter areas are full of mazes and y'all are lost pretty easily. Since all night caves are literally infested with swarms of orcs and goblins, a wrong turn tin can result in a great havoc and lots of frustration. Moreover, there are many places where you can drop in the endless abyss of Moria, so y'all are westarned!

Sage lockers can be found in lots of places, and when you lot wait a scrap they will respawn quickly. I have provided also the stable routes on the map, so when you are lost you have to get to the stable route and current of air your way dorsum to a safe place.

Moria - Nifty Delving. Yellow dots = sage'due south locker, yellow line = stable road (stables = purple)

Durin's Manner

North of the Corking Delving, when you laissez passer the Dwarf-lords Gate, you lot enter (the zone) Durin's Way. The whole western (left of 'the cross' of Jazargund on the map ) is rich in sage lockers, but you don't notice them in the winding passage from the Chamber of Crossroads to the 21st Hall.

All the locations are guarded by orcs or other nasty critters. The garden is surprisingly empty of sage's lockers.

Durin'south Fashion. Yellowish dots = sage lockers, yellow line = stable routes (stables = purple)

.

The Fanged Pit

Eastward of the cross of Jazargund at that place is a gigantic Cavern with small hills, peaks, platforms and lots of winged evil creatures. Despite the vastness of the Fanged Pit, in that location are no scholar artifacts to exist establish. I crossed all the paths, but didn't see whatsoever. So, as a scholar in search for artifacts you can skip this area.

Fanged Pit. Yellow dots = sage lockers, yellow line = stable routes (stables = majestic)

Silvertine lodes
Silvertine lodes lies south of Deep Descent and can be considered as a sub-lower ldue eastvel. This zone contains some spots with Sage's lockers, but information technology is not a very rich identify. I found 3 spots in the primal role, near the screw wooden platform of Menem-berej. The Old Silvertine City and the goblin infested caves south of Gamil Filik offers also some spots. If you desperately need some lockers, the upper levels of Moria are richer and more easier to boodle.

Silvertine lodes: yellow dots = sage's lockers, yellow line = stable route

21-st Hall
South of the 21-st Hall is a big hall complex with the aforementioned dark chocolate-brown tiles, called the Neat Hall of Durin. You can enter information technology by the 21-Hall West Curvation, and by following the stable route you wil find three spots of lockers. The hall has several sublevels connected with stairs. In total you tin can notice 7 spots with lockers in the brown tiled halls. Two places are dangerous and heavily guarded past orcs, Bult-kar and gazata-ru. The other locations are non a very large problem, every bit long as you are the same level as the orcs in this zone.

If you follow the stableroute, you can go to the Wide Halls and entering the Zelem-Melek zone. This is a very huge zone, with a maze like structure with minor hals and orc infested rooms. Zelem-melek is gradually changing in the Flaming depths-zone in the SE.

Zelem-Melek, 21-st Hall (north) and Great Hall of Durin (due south)

Zelem-Melek Northern part
Zelem-Melek is a big hall complex with many south eparated small halls and orc infested areas. It has several Sage's lockers, but they are a bit scattered throughout Zelem-Melek. South of the Hall of Flowing Water this zone seems to be a flake empty, but this will modify when yous are entering the southern part of Zelem-Melek (come across entry below). This office of Moria can be entered from the 21 Hall in the NE or the Neat Delving in the W. In the far NE you will entering the Redhorn Lodes.
A curious gorge is running north-south and bordering Zelem-Melek from the Nifty Delving. You can follow this gorge right to the Flaming Depths. There is much ore to exist found in this underway tunnel, only no scholar artifacts.

Zelem-Melek, northern part: yellowish dots = sage's lockers, xanthous line = stable route

Zelem-Melek Southern role
The S part of Zelem-Melek is much alike the north office with lots of Sage's lockers. All are full-bodied in orc infested rooms, so be a chip prepared to hit and run if there are also much orcs attack y'all. Since there are many expressionless ends, its advisable to approach every room charily. This hall-like zone changes after you pass the Orc-Watch in the east, when you enter the large cave of the Redhorn Lodes. This is a lower zone of Moria, with Sage's caskets.
In the due south is the stable of Anazarmekhem, and in that location you enter the Flaming Depths, a dangerous lower zone of Mora, with Sage's caskets.

Zelem-Melek, southern part : yellowish dots = sage'south lockers, yellow line = stable route

The Waterworks
The Waterworks is one of the coolest places to be in the Mines of Moria. information technology is a earth on its own, with strange quiet pools and interesting chambers to explore. For a lower level area it is not a very dangerous one, in most parts. The Globsnaga orc identify - the red room bordering the Chamber of Dark Waters - is one of the more dangerous places. An interesting identify to explore is The Lost Palace with beautiful translucent spiders.
The Waterworks is a fun identify to notice and you will find several scattered places with sage's lockers. Surprisingly , in this everyman level of Moria, at that place are no caskets to be found and yous will find merely sage's lockers. The western part, southward of Narag-kheleb didn't incorporate any scholar artifacts. I checked all the places at that place, simply couldn't discover anything.

The Waterworks, southern part : yellowish dots = sage's lockers, yellow line = stable road

Sage'due south caskets can be found in the lower depths of the Mines of Moria, like the Redhorn Lodes and Flaming depths. The Waterworks is a beautiful surface area, but contains only Sage's Lockers. Nothing was found in the atrocious caves of the Foundation of Stone.

Nud-Melek
A big part of Nud-Melek is the gigantic 2nd Hall with huge stone columns, shaped like ancient trees. This surface area - the second Hall - has 4 spots of sage's caskets, and you lot can circle it by elimination the caskets and slaying the numerous orcs and nasty big glowworms.
From Khurjezer to the Beginning Hall I just found three locations and west of the 21 Hall, in the lava-rich stone-bridge area only 1 spot.
Don't go in the passage n of Khurjezer for scholar artifacts, since at that place are none to exist constitute. This passage is a nuisance anyway, because later on slaying countless and endless orcs you lot pass Balin'due south Camp and will encounter a non-passable roadblock, guarded by ... orcs! You have to fight the whole way back, since there isn't any passage to the 21st-Hall (although the map and mini-radar suggest information technology...).

Sage'south caskets (blue dots) in Nud-melek. The yellow line it the stable road.

Redhorn-lodes
Redhorn lodes is a surprisingly pretty easy high level area to wait for sage's caskets. The caskets are concentrated in the NW part of this zone, I didnt constitute whatever in the Eastern half and the southward outhern role (infested with countless spitting Grodborgs).

Sage'due south caskets (blue dots) in Redhorn Lodes. The yellow line it the stable road.

Flaming Deeps
The Flaming deeps is an interesting place to exist, with lots of lava pools and heat-loving critters. There are several spots with sage's caskets to exist plant, most of them in the near vicinity of the stable route. If you are careful, they are not very difficult to loot, simply this place seems to be a scrap more than dangerous then the Redhorn Lodes.

Sage'south caskets (blue dots) in the Flaming Deeps. The yellow line is the stable road

Foundation of Stone
In this gruesome place, with indescribable horrors, totally none scholar artifacts where found.

Lothlorien

Of all zone in Middle Earth where I have searched for Sage's lockboxes, the gilded wood of Lothlorien is the easiest and most relaxed place to be. Yous need to cross the Nimrodel, since these artifacts can merely be found in the golden wood. Until now I take discovered five places: Cerin Nauth,  The Quiet Garden, Cerin Brethil, The Vineyards of Lorien and Fifty ady's Rest. Well-nigh all these places give three easy to loot spots with Sage's lockboxes. There are hardly no enemies to attack you lot hither - if you lot stay away from some - and it's a much more comfortable place to expect for artifacts then the ugly halls of Moria. Although I realize that the hack-and-slash scholars may find it a bit to dull hither (slashers: go to Mirkwood for artifacts). Anyway, I y'all circle Cerin Nauth,  The Quiet Garden and Cerin Brethil, you lot will accept a lot of artifacts in no time. At the V inyards of Lórien yous can constitute 2 spots with boxes hither. Reports of v places are only a false rumor. Anyhow, the Vineyard is a bit remote, so if yous don't have to practise any quests hither information technology is better and far more economic to circumvolve the above mentioned glades.

Mirkwood

Compared to Enedwaith and eastward specially the golden forest of Lothlorien, Mirkwood is a grim place to be. Simply if y'all are careful it's not such a pain as the numeral deep crevices of Moria. You accept to venture far to reach the ruins with artifacts (Sage'southward lockboxes) and they seem to be concentrated in the orc and ghost infested ruins of the Ashenlades. I have marked vi stony ruins where lots of lockboxes tin can be found. Most places have three lockboxes, and the two ruins at Sad Doldur incorporate a total of 6 boxes. If you circumvolve around here, you will meet 18 places with lockboxes, and this is 1 of the highest density places with scholar artifacts to be plant in a pocket-sized area. If you desire to do some slayer-deed, similar orc-slaying, or want to do some ruin discoveries, the Ashenlades is certainly the place to be!
I didn't institute any other places with Sage lockboxes in other ruins, like thursdayeastward Thousandirk-eaves in the western part of Mirkwood, Emyn-lum and Taur-morvitch. Even the huge ruin complexes in Dol Guldur and Gathburz seems te be empty (probably all stolen by evil man). The tower of Minas Gil is also not worth a visit for artifacts, although you can slay a lot of sorcerers there (slayer-deed) . Like all humanoids they will certainly drop some raw fabric of the stolen scholar artifacts. Noteast that the orc-camps with tents and wooden palisades(western part of Mirkwood) and the barrows at the Shrine of the Ancient I (far eastern Scuttledellsouth) didn't comprise whatever artifacts either.

Enedwaith
Not much is known of the scholar artifacts in this zone of Heart Earth. I have discovered 4 regions with several spots of Sage's lockboxes.
In the north in that location seems to be only two places withlockboxes. The beginning identify to enter is the deserters campsite of Lhe Lhechu, in Forditith. A far better, but much more dangerous place is the behemothic ruin of Amon Min. Information technology is heavily thouuarded by robbers, only it is an awarding place to loot: I take found half-dozen spots with lockboxes there. The Rex'due south Way Gate, NW of this great ruin was empty; I only found a regular wooden breast in that location.
In the south there are two major regions for Scholar artifacts. Y'all tin find quite a lot of Sage'due south lockboxes in the lich infested barrow downs of Lich bluff. Near locations hither are west of the road, but you tin can too find some e of it. All the lockboxes are heavily guarded by numerous liches .
In the giant hills of Thrors Thomb in that location are too some sage'due south lockboxes to exist plant, between the giants... These huge creatures are lvl 65 and they take a health of 20300 morale! And so, it's a bit catchy here, unless you are level 75 or higher (and so a very easy spot!). They are all located nigh Mafan-mudum. I didn't find anything in the north-eastern snowy dragon expanse or in the ancient dwarven library of Nár'south Peak.

Tier seven – Westfold: Banded Coffer

Banded Coffers tin can be found in Dunland, the Gap of Rohan, Nan Curunír and the Great River.

The coffers contain the following raw materials:

- Page of Gondorian Parchment (rare)

- Scraps of Weathered Dunlending Text (common)

Heavy banded coffers can drop the very valuable Croaky Rhi Helvarch Sigil, a smashing item to craft special legendary weapons and books.

The Peachy River - Thinglad

Some places at the Nifty Rover are surprisingly empty of enemies and a pleasure to await for banded coffers. You can find 3 well-nigh the ruin of Haldirith and 2 near the giant statue, called The Cuthstan. A far more dangerous area is the Limlight Gorge with gargantuan spiders and walking trees (huorns). The Fallen Tower is more than or less easely to appoach, but all the other places with banded coffers are dangerous. Starting at the Fallen Tower, the scholar tin can exercise the Ancient Ruins of the Limlight act here. For this human activity you have to observe very modest ruins.  2 of these very small ruins - white fallen walls, pulsating when not discoverd - can by found by tracking artifacts: the tumbled and ancient elf-ruins are almost e'er accompanied by 1 banded coffer (although it tin can be empty if they are looted past another scholar). The other 3 places in the Limlight Gorge with small elf-ruins are the mysterious [27.0S, 69.0W], hallowed [27.4S, 70.4W] and engraved elf-ruins [27.0S, 71.2W]. I didn't find banded coffers at those places.

The orc-camps in the north (Thinglad) have likewise spots with banded coffers. I accept found 5 spots at the army camp of Hîs-urdan and 2 in Ûngund. Those in Ûngund were heavy banded coffers and 1 of them contained a very rare Croaky Rhi Helvarch Sigil. So be peachy and loot always the heavy banded coffers first! You never know when another scholar volition bear witness up...

Three coffers can exist institute in the ghost infested Field of Celebrant. The neighbouring Eorlsmead Belfry withal was empty when I visited information technology. The large ruin complex of Ost Celebrant is full of banded coffers, merely infested with many ghosts and brigands. I couldn't detect anything in the Brownland camps.

Dunland

The North of Dunland seems to be full of banded coffers, fifty-fifty more then in the Groovy River expanse. Especially the wight infested Bonevales offers much for a scholar. I have found 10 locations with banded coffers! I noticed also some Indigo plants in this place, just didn't map them. Other practiced places in this function of Dunland are the dragon association settlement (due north and due south) and the adjacent Rooks hut.

In the eye of Dunland lies the foreign winged tower of Flam-cadlus. Its is heavely guarded past lvl 68 dunleding riders, but there are many rewards here! I have found v spots with normal banded coffers and 2 spots with heavy banded coffers (1 dropped a Cracked Rhi Helvarch Sigil). The other tower, Hen Turrau, lying SE of this tower, has iii lightly guarded spots with banded coffers. One of them is of the heavy type, so information technology may drop a Croaky Rhi Sigil.

Other places in primal Dunland give only ane or 2 coffers, just the Tree of Tribute maybe an interesting spot. One of the coffers here tin be a heavy 1 (special drop!). The warg panels, north of the Howling caverns - in Pren Gwydh - are besides a skilful place for looting coffers, only beware all these lvl 67 wargs with their goblin trainers. If y'all are conscientious, this place can be looted by a solo caracter of lvl 65+.

To the southwest, Lhan Covarn (in the NW point of the Dunbog) is an interesting place. Four coffers can exist plant, but this place is literally swarmed with malevolent orcs. Don't go at that place if you are low level, or go in a group. All the same, at level 75+ it is an like shooting fish in a barrel place to loot.

To the far south are the Withered Stones. This is an ancient ruin in a swamp, with lots of strange Dun Avanc (lvl 71): a kind of reptilian which looks like a small-scale stegosaurus. Don't underestimate them, they are fierce creatures!

The Tal Methedras settlement, in the NE of Dunlaind doenst contain any banded coffers.

Gap of Rohan

In the Gap of Rohan I found 4 locations with banded coffers, all in the enemy infested settlement of Brôntrig. There are a lot of lvl 72-73 Draig-lûth Warriors here, so be careful! Otherwise this area is non interesting at all to search for banded coffers, although I didn't audit the evil settlement of Wulf'due south crack.

Nan Curunir
Nan Curunir is Saruman'south identify, with the forbidden Blackness tower of Orthanc permanently in sight. Information technology is a gruesome and very malevolent zone, and not the identify to be for gathering banded coffers. I simply found 1 location, with 2 spots: in the Blackmarch Fort, which is literally swarming with lvl 75 Shak-Hai Archers, Warriors and Woodcutters. The name woodcutter sounds like a normal woodcutter, fleck these beasts are Saruman's creatures, so Uruk-Hai. They have cut down the lovely forest here. I tin can imagine a better place for looting Banded coffers, like the Bonevales in NW Dunland!

Nevertheless, for the assuming charlatan it is fun to steal artifacts correct under the nose of Saruman. His tower is outside the wall guarded by lvl 75 warg-rides and half-orc sentries. Inside you will find - of form - a host of lvl 75 enemies, like Isenguard warriors, Isen Warg Riders, Shak-Hai Warriors, signature Shak-Hai Overseers and the aristocracy 76692 morale War-Troll (immune to root and stun). Some humans tin can likewise exist institute here, a kind of sorceres called Apprentice of Saruman.

Exterior the gate I institute only 1 spot with a banded countinghouse, but inside is a ring of x or more coffers. Two are heavy banded coffers and may (non will...) contain a cracked rhi sigil.

The Gate is guarded past 2 curvation-nemesis trolls, chosen Ufdragh and  Barashal. They are immune to stun and root. Both trolls are 751700 morale and extremely dangerous. Ride your horse and dart through, in a straight line to the black tower of Orthanc! Hopefully they don't hit you with a devastating hit! They tin practise each 4044 Common damage with a critical hit, or 1333 normal shadow harm. Ordinarily merely 1 troll will hit y'all, but sometimes - that is a stated fact - two. If you lot run far enough, they will cease and retreat to their watchpost at the gate.

Inside y'all take but to avoid - or slay - the swarms of mobs there. Its pretty easy when you are lvl 84, since no ane - except Ufdragh and  Barashal - will attack you. The only thing you have to be careful at, is the escape route. If you hitting that place, you enter a one-way sewer tube to the outside and cannot become dorsum. Anyway, accept a lot of fun at Saruman's dwellings. Sadly enough, y'all cannot visit him to drinkable a cup of green tea. The door of the blackness tower is firmly closed...

To enter the inner circle yous accept to pass these nemesis-trolls

Tier eight -  Eastemnet - Ornate Caches

Ornate caches can exist plant in E rohan and these wooden boxes contains 2 types of raw material:

- Bit of Rohirric Text

- Piece of Sealed Wax.

Sometimes, peculiarly in heavy ornate caches, yous can find the very rare Tarnished Crest of Rohan. However, it is stated that this is a very rare drop from scholar artifacts, much rarer than the droprate from wood and ore...

The Due east Wall and The Wold have the all-time spots for scholar artifacts in Eastern Rohan, and they can be institute in ruins (expect careful at the map for these places!) and in orc camps. In all other regions in Eastern Rohan scholar stuff seems to exist rare. Outside the Wold and the East Wall I have establish merely 4 places until now with ornate caches.  These places are located in orc camps or dungeons - fifty-fifty instances - , guarded by many orcs or undead.

Norcrofts and Entwash Vale

For the Norcrofts and Entwash Vale I accept constructed two maps with the places I know, but mayhap there are some more to find. However, none of  the locations in these areas has an easy access to boodle the scholar artifacts. So, in determination I tin can advise you to concentrate your search in Eastern Rohan in the Wold, or - even better - due south of the Argonath in the Eastwall region.

.

The Wold

The Wold is at loftier level (eighty+) a pretty easy area to wait for ornate caches.A fairly easy boodle-spot with 4 cases can be found in a ruined tower, just southward of Ost Celebranth, beyond the river and over the bridge (turn left when entering East Rohan).
Somewhat more dangerous areas are the ruins in the Seething Mire with lots of salamanders. At that place are some quests here, then you tin combine your search for ornate chasts here.
The large orc-campsite at Joshkni-Orda is another interesting spot for combining quests and looking for ornate chests. Together with the ruined tower in the north, it is the nigh rewarding spot for scholar artifacts in The Wold.
In the other orc-camps you will find only single ornate caches, but information technology is up to you if you desire to loot these sparse trunks with some Rohirric texts. Killing orcs volition likewise result in some drops of Rohirric texts. And so, if you want to overstate your scholar stuff, you take to cull the aggresive style here.

Ornate caches in The Wold

East Wall

Orc campsite most the Argonath [49.5S, 47.6W]
3 chests can be establish here, simply the camp is heavily infested with ranged orcs (skirmishers) and close combat orcs (mordor orcs). They volition be not a great problem, unless yous run around with your horse. Stand however and kill them i for one, the ranged ones first, considering they can do a lot of accumulated damage. If y'all are in a hurry, or don't want to kill a lot of orcs, yous tin can skip this identify and travel s. Most other places in The East Wall are much easier to loot and then this 1, with a meager reward of 3 chests...

Ruined tower , south of the Argonath [54.9S, 49.8W]
A relatively easy place to look for artifacts. Just some orcs, who tin can be easily subdued. The tower can be seen due east of the road, but at first sight the radar will show you nothing. Just ride somewhat closer and you will discover 2-3 ornate chests around the sometime walls of the belfry .

Ruins near Tol Brandir [59.0S, 47.5]
Merely before the Rauros and with a beautiful view of Tol Brandir, there is a ruin with some orcs and 3 ornate chests. Its an easy spot to loot some 3-6 Rohirric texts.

Road to Amon Hen and Hissing Pit
Along the road to Amon Hen, near the Hissing Pit,  at that place are 6 ornate chests. Two can be found at 58.0S, 50.4W and 58.0S, 50.4W. Information technology is a quiet place with some scattered orcs which can be easily avoided. Iv in a row can be establish near the stone wall of 58.4S, 50.2W and two near the ruined belfry of 58.8S, 49.9W. All these chests are a relatively easy loot for a shrewd scholar.

Amon Hen
Somewhat more hard are the ruins of Amon Hen, just at the top of the stairs. I have found 4 chests, all around a stair to the top of Amon Hen, almost 61.2S, 46.6W. I can even exist plant at the kings chair, at the highest point of Amon Hen. Sitting in the chair you will have a beautiful view into the lands to come...
